About Emma Yates

Emma Yates is an Australian born, New York based designer who specializes in unconventional bridal wear. Born to parents who never legally married, but still experienced a chaotic divorce, Emma aims to discuss and redefine ideas around marriage in her work. She draws much of her inspiration from her childhood spent between Sydney and Australian outback. Emma is passionate about supporting Australian farmers and works directly with farmers in the Hilltops Region to source her raw materials, before processing them to create looks for the modern bride.

Emma has worked alongside a number of industry leaders including receiving sponsorships from Swarovski and Sophie Hallette for her Fall/Winter 2018 collection.

In 2019 Emma was named as a finalist for the Parsons School of Fashion Luxarity Lane Crawford award.

Work from By Emma Yates has been featured in several international publications including Fashionista, Huf Magazine, Elléments Magazine and The Cootamundra Herald.

Emma graduated from The New School with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Fashion design with specialization in systems design and bridal design; Bachelor of Arts at Eugene Lang majoring in Code and Machine Learning, Media and Digital Communications.
